Do you ever get so tired both emotionally and physically that you feel like you're going to just do a faceplant into your keyboard?

I'm rocking that feeling about now. It's like not only am I tired, I'm achy, which is making me more tired. And the cold? Making me want to go home and snuggle up in my blankets. I got plenty of sleep last night. Maybe I got too much. I only know this feeling is very annoying.

In about 2 hours I will have finally completed America's Military Past on my fourth try. Unfortunately, I can't go right over and take my Psych exam. I have to wait at work until 6 before I go over to do that. Hopefully I'll get home around 8 and I can go straight to bed. I'm sure something will come up where I can't, but at least I can try.

Well, I'm still alive, though I feel like it's barely so.

Work has entered a whole new level of craziness and late hours.

My finals are tomorrow and I'm finally off from school for about a month.

I'm 97% finished my Christmas shopping.

There's other stuff going on too, but LJ isn't really the place to talk about it.

I need to get my beauty sleep now.

(PS, I made my icon myself, so pardon the suck.)

I'm trying to think of every good Christmas song I can to make a playlist on Rhapsody.

A pirate walked into a bar and the bartender said, "Hey, I haven't
seen you in a while. What happened? You look terrible."

"What do you mean?" said the pirate, "I feel fine."

"What about the wooden leg? You didn't have that before." "Well, we
were in a battle and I got hit with a cannon ball, but I'm fine now."

"Well, ok, but what about that hook? "What happened to your hand?"

"We were in another battle. I boarded a ship and got into a sword
fight. My hand was cut off. I got fitted with a hook. I'm fine, really."

"What about that eye patch?"

"Oh, one day we were at sea and a flock of birds flew over... I
looked up and one of them shit in my eye."

"You're kidding," said the bartender, "you couldn't lose an eye just
from some bird shit."

"It was my first day with the hook."

Thanks family. Not only do you drain me mentally, I have now caught the black death that you so thoughtfully brought into our home.

Can't wait to finish work on my paper feeling like shit.

Back to bed.

I had to take a history test last week that encompassed the entire Civil War. Ordinarily, this wouldn't bother me. Having it the same day as another test, being so swamped at work I couldn't even make it to class and needing to clean made it bother me. Mostly because I had next to no time to study for either test with working late and everything.

I was lucky enough to have my psychology test moved to Tuesday and my History test moved to Thursday, so I at least had a chance to go over my notes for a bit and do flashcards. I still was in no way prepared! I came into work Thursday morning, (even though Wendy was at my house and I was off) finished what I absolutely had to, then went to take my history test like I was walking to my death. I was absolutely certain I failed it.

I got said test back today, and I got an 80. Now I know the work on that test was NOT deserving of an 80. Granted, I may have done better than a failing grade, but not by much. Br. Ed and his grading rock! On a Br. Ed side note, he said "fuck" several times in class today. Doesn't bother me ever, just very odd watching it come out of the mouth of somebody who dresses like a priest.

So the 80 was my good news. The bad news? I also found out today in class that I have a paper due next week. This was a paper that I was sure wasn't due until the first week of December. So I pretty much got an unwanted fire lit under my ass. Ten pages in a week, I can do that no sweat...right.

The thing that sucks about it is that I was planning to see the Deadskullz Friday night and go shopping Saturday, which leaves Sunday and after work. I should probably be good and stay home on Friday night, but I have to really sit down and think about it. It would be pointless to stay in if I really don't think I'm going to work on the paper, which I probably wouldn't. I absolutely can't call off shopping because I have almost nothing to wear for the winter. What I do have has holes in it or is illfitting, and frankly, I'm tired of being embarrassed of my poor white trash wardrobe at work.

I know I'll figure it out. Beth even said I work better under pressure, which I do, I just hate the pressure part. Just needed to rant. I'm hoping when I get home, I can update about Wendy's trip and post some pictures and stuff. We'll see what Chris let's me do. Sometimes, he's like an extra parent, which is sometimes annoying, but mostly I appreciate. Helps me stay focused.

Off to Psych.

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want, either good or bad. I promise not to come after you with claws extended, either way.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your lj and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

Vacation rocked so hard, it wasn't even funny.  I'll try to post a reader's digest version.

  1. Spent from 9-4:30 on Friday in the car.  We got held up by bad traffic in MD twice.  I drove 4 hours of the trip, which is the longest I've ever gone.  Yay for me!
  2. Get to the hotel.  Holy shit, did Wendy ([livejournal.com profile] vermilionkiss) ever hook us up, and as a result, Torri ([livejournal.com profile] lvlystori), Tony ([livejournal.com profile] demon19733) and Jareth ([livejournal.com profile] jarethnorval) were able to stay with us over the weekend as well.
  3. Met Torri and Tony and Jareth (soo cute) and headed to Colonial Williamsburg to have a snack at a colonial tavern and see Cry Witch, a recreation of a witch trial.  Both were awesome, although I couldn't finish the strongest mint julep EVER.
  4. Had dinner at Tequila Rose, an authentic Mexican restaurant.  It was way yummy.
  5. Stopped at Farm Fresh to stock up on goodies.  They sold wine in there!  My mind was blown, almost as blown as seeing rice in the salt shaker at the restaurant.
  6. Busch Gardens all day on Saturday for fun at Howl-O-Scream.  Rode more rides than I thought I would, including the Big Bad Wolf.  It wasn't that bad, my nerves are so shot that it almost sent me into a panic attack.  That's ok because all the haunted houses almost gave Wendy a panic attack, and Torri didn't look so good going through the one she came in, either.  We got back to the hotel around 12 or so, and well, tired?  Not the word for it.
  7. Went to a BBQ place called Pierce's for lunch.  I had a burger and got yelled at because it took so long, and because I ordered a burger in a BBQ place.  It's just what I wanted!  Unfortunately, the Sanders crew had to leave after lunch.
  8. Headed to Colonial Williamsburg with Wendy and "accidentally" took the tour of the governor's palace.  We had a walk around the town, picked up a couple of souveniers and met up with Christina ([livejournal.com profile] mekkoc), who was cool as shit.  Maybe it's something in the water down there?  Not sure.
  9. Cracker Barrel for dinner with Wendy and Christina, then Chris and I hit the road.  He decided to take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel back, which in my opinion, took forever when it didn't need to.  We pulled off on our way to VA Beach into a ghetto someplace to get cheap cigs and he took over the driving around 11:30, somewhere in Northern VA.
  10. Chris hit a deer with my car.  He woke me up out of a dead sleep yelling about it.  I didn't want to open my eyes, I thought it was going to be totalled.  But Chris amazed me.  There's like 3 scrapes, there was a little bit of deer hair on it and it took out my foglight.
  11. Got home and crashed about 3AM Monday morning.
  12. Got a sinus infection and ear infection on Thursday, resulting in my not moving from my bed for most of the weekend.  Fortunately, I feel much better now, but my antibiotic is making me way sleepy.

and now, for pictues )

I picked the best day ever to take a lunch!

There's costumed freaks from here walking all over the main quad and all through the food court. It was too funny, all you could hear all through lunch was the horrific screaming of wimpy sorority girls. They got Gwen, our old cleaning lady, too. I'm pretty sure there was a puddle under her chair.

Pirate Jack walked up to me and tried to scare me on our way back. I asked him for a hug and totally got one. Why couldn't I have a camera phone?! Only time I've ever wanted one. I'm sure a certain person on my flist (she knows who she is) is glad she wasn't here.

Honestly, I think this is the most excitement that La Salle has seen in forever. Probably since the gas leak.

We made it home okay after a fabulous weekend. So beat! I'm off too bed, update later.

So Chris and I are heading down to Williamsburg next Friday morning. I want to avoid the beltway, because I have NOT heard good things. I'm having two problems with this though.

1. I'm not sure what route #'s actually are the beltway. None of the directions I've gotten actually say "take the beltway"

2. Does anybody know of a way I could get down there that doesn't involve the beltway? I don't know that the directions I've gotten involve it, but I'm assuming they do because of they way it looks on the map.

LJ Interests meme results

  1. body modification:
I like tattoos, I have seven. I used to like piercing, then I took them all out.
  2. cross stitch:
It sounds nerdy, but it's really relaxing and it makes great inexpensive Christmas gifts. I'm a crafty bitch, what can I say?
  3. eighteen visions:
Decent band. As Jim would say, they could go on tour with Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold and all share the same make up case. James Hart, not so hot in pictures, but covered in sweat on stage=yum.
  4. ice hockey:
Started liking hockey in high school. Was a hockey groupie in college. Still like hockey and I'm glad it's back.
  5. les miserables:
The second broadway show I ever saw. Sand a solo from it my senior year of high school.
  6. occult:
I'm interested in all things occult. Ghosts, poltergeists, past life experiences, psychics, tarrot. You name it, I've probably at least read about it in passing.
  7. plastic canvas:
See cross stitching. The difference is, I'm better at this, since I've been doing it since I was 12 and the holes are bigger so it goes a lot faster. The downfall of it is that it's almost impossible to find any patterns that are cool and/or not country gag style.
  8. shooting pool:
I'm not good at it, but it makes me feel like a bad ass. I haven't shot pool since probably December. I need to do this soon.
  9. tlc:
Ahh sweet learning channel. Few things are greater, except perhaps the discovery channel.

It's been a busy week for me!

Thursday night was the rehersal and dinner.  The priest was cranky as all hell, and I actually made him say "Jesus, Mary and Joseph" when I wasn't paying attention in Church.  Everything went smoothly for the most part, though.  We had dinner at Nick's Roast Beef after.  I don't know why we couldn't have had Sarah's shower there.  The food was better and it was really nice in their banquet room.  If you're reading this and I pick you for a bridesmaid when the time comes, keep this in mind.

Friday, I wound up watching Riley.  It was unplanned, but no problem at all, seeing as she was a perfect angel for me.  Jim came and picked her up early and I was supposed to go to Michael's, but I wound up taking a nap instead.  Around 4, we left to get our nails done, and I got my very first pedicure.  Now, I don't usually like people touching my feet.  I don't like feet for that matter, especially not mine, but I've found a new addiction.  Not only was the service itself relaxing, they have these amazing massage chairs.  These things don't just vibrate, they knead.  I didn't want to get up.  I keep trying to convice Chris to get one, but he won't.

Post pedicure, the bridesmaids had dinner, then me and Nikki ran to Michael's for beads to make hairpins and to Payless to get scuff guards for our shoes.  It was a busy night, but we all somehow managed to get to bed at a decent hour.

Saturday morning, we were up at 7 and off to Jackie's at 8:30.  I don't think I could have dreamed of anybody doing a better job on our hair.  We all looked great.  Ruthanne's aunt didn't do bad makeup, like we were afraid of, but it wasn't quite as nice as we would have liked.  Most of us were adding eyeliner, or fixing where it was.  Then it was back to the house to rush, and off to the wedding.  The following is the briefest breakdown I can do of the day's highlights.

  • Joey fell down the steps trying to come up.  He's ok, but has a huge scrape on his little head.
  • Rude ass photographer showed up and took forever to pose us on the porch.  The fact that Sarah had to be rushed back inside since the limo was coming down our street didn't speed things along any.
  • Nothing special happened at the Church really, other than my Dad tripping over Sarah's train.  I hope to hell the videographer got that on tape.
  • We almost had a fight at Nazareth for pictures.  Sarah booked it 3 months ago, we got there and there was another wedding hogging the whole place that booked the day before.  We were NOT happy.
  • The rude photographer took even longer there, and the bridal party gave up, went back to the limo and had some Jack.
  • Spent some time at the cocktail hour, (Twining Hall has great appetizers.) then were rushed into the Bridal Suite.  They shoved like 15 people in a room made for 2.  We were just about to get a picture of all of us on the firetruck outside when the DJ started announcing everyone.
  • The DJ pronounced Jeanie's name wrong.  I know she didn't, but I'd have sick satisfaction if she did it on purpose.
  • The first slow song everybody could dance to was Can't Help Falling In Love, so of course Chris and I danced and probably made a lot of people sick in the process.
  • I think I fell in love with Chris 10 times over that day.  Not only did he dance with me, he wore a tie (for most of the day anyway) and when we found out nobody brought Joey's diaper bag, he ran out and got diapers, wipes, juice, etc.  He thought of everything.
  • Ruthanne won't be able to see the video, because when she made her speech, everybody at the bridal table rolled our eyes.
  • I'm pretty sure the only people who weren't totally drunk were me, Chris, Jackie and Nancy.  I think I had maybe a shot of Jack and 2 drinks all day.  I was loving the Cherry Coke, though.
  • Sarah kissed Joey and narrowly escaped him puking on her, then she left me to deal with cleaning him up.
  • I had a handful of the bouquet.  A big one.  Nikki stole it from me though.  Same thing happened with Dana at Jim and Vicky's wedding.  I need to be somebody else's bridesmaid - third time's the charm.
  • My everything hurt by the end of the day and I was mad tired.  Chris and I came home and my parents actually went out with Sarah and Joe to party more.
  • They came home shortly after, because Sarah decided she was tired and we ordered pizza.  Then my day finally came to an end.
That's pretty much all the exciting stuff.  We went to Chris' neice's birthday party on Sunday, I had a migraine by the time I got home.  By Monday morning, said migraine had become a sinus infection so I missed work Monday and Tuesday.  It sucked, but I felt like shit.  Other than classes, that's about all going on in the world of Janet right now.

Lots of oversized pictures behind the cut...dialup beware! )

On Monday morning, I have my first experience with a car dealership ever. I just need a couple of small random things fixed while the warranty is still active on it. The problem is, the dealer is in feasterville, and I have no way to get to work. I have a rental included in my warranty, but it only gets covered if they have my car for longer than a day. If it comes down to it, I guess I could take a day off, but I really don't want to do that, especially since I want to take the Friday off that Wendy's coming up.

On November 1, Avenged Sevenfold is playing the Trocadero with SAOSIN, Death by Stereo and Opiate for the Masses. The only opener I've heard of is Death by Stereo and I've never actually heard them, so although doors are at 6, I figured I wouldn't go down until around 8. Tickets are only $15 and I need a concert buddy/concert buddies. They might not sound great live, but like me and Vicky were saying last night, they probably have great stage presense and would put on a great show. I want to go buy tickets next Friday, the 16th, when I get paid, so let me know by then.
